DAWN BUOY

Chartered Physiotherapist & APPI Master Trainer

Dawn qualified from Kings College in 2000 and began her career in the NHS at Kings College Hospital and Addenbrookes Cambridge where she also worked with the University sports teams. She then worked with the RAF treating acute injuries and rehabilitating those with more complex problems. She completed her Masters Degree at Birmingham University which allowed her to gain membership to the specialist physiotherapy group the MACP. Dawn then joined the prestigious APPI physiotherapy and Pilates studio in London where she qualified as an APPI master trainer, teaching other physios in the UK and internationally how to integrate Pilates into their treatment programs. She has also had the pleasure of working with Team GB physios advising them how to use Pilates as part of the athlete’s rehab programs.

GEMMA CHRYSTYN

Chartered Physiotherapist, APPI Pilates Instructor & Women's Health Specialist

Gemma qualified as a Physiotherapist from the University of Bradford in 2003. She began her career in the NHS at East Sussex NHS Trust and later Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals. Gemma's passion for Pilates began during her first pregnancy when she suffered from severe pelvic girdle pain. She knew that the key to successful rehabilitation was a stronger core achieved through Pilates based exercises so she joined an APPI class which gave fantastic results. She enjoyed the classes and benefits so much she decided to teach Pilates herself to help others. Gemma is also our women's health specialist and is here to help with any issues you may have.

TOM GOOM

Chartered Physiotherapist & Running Specialist

Tom is a physiotherapist with over 20 years of experience and a very keen runner! He graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in 2002 and since then has worked in clinics in the UK and overseas. His career started in Winchester where he worked in the NHS and developed a specific interest in lower limb rehab and joined the physio team at a semi-professional football club. Following the Tsunami in 2004 Tom travelled to Sri Lanka and did voluntary physiotherapy work in a hospital, teaching local staff, treating patients and fundraising for new equipment. He returned to the UK in 2006 and started working in Brighton as a senior physiotherapist. His interest in rehab continued to grow and he ran lower limb and spinal rehab groups as well a chronic pain programme.

He started RunningPhysio in March 2012 to help those training for marathons that spring, since then it’s developed into a resource used by runners and clinicians all over the world. Tom has written for Running Fitness, Men’s Running UK, and the British Journal of Sports Medicine blog. His research in proximal hamstring tendinopathy has been published in the prestigious Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy.

In 2014 Tom started sharing his knowledge through teaching on the Running Repairs Course which has gone from strength to strength and he now presents both in the UK and internationally. 

LAURA SMITH

Chartered Physiotherapist & APPI Pilates Instructor

Laura qualified as a Physiotherapist with a master's degree from King's College London. She has worked within the NHS at Chelsea and Westminster and the Royal Marsden Hospitals, The Royal Sussex County Hospital. She also worked as a physio for Milwall rugby club and has enjoyed working both in the NHS and sports environments rehabilitating clients after injury and surgery. Laura's passion for Pilates stemmed from her love of dance and seeing first hand how the techniques helped her to remain injury free when completing her first marathon. She believes Pilates compliments physiotherapy treatment techniques providing a well rounded treatment approach and enjoys both 1:1 teaching and teaching in a group environment.

LAURA ELLIOTT

Chartered Physiotherapist

Laura has a BSc and MSc in Sports Science from Loughborough University and worked within the Sports and Health promotion field before training as a Physiotherapist. She graduated with and MSc in Physiotherapy from Kings College London in 2013. Since then she has worked in various NHS trusts in London before relocating to Brighton. Outside of work she enjoys sports, having played hockey and volleyball competitively and has run marathons and completed a triathlon. She is keen to get you back to doing what you enjoy, be that competitive sport or playing with your children. She can provide exercise rehabilitation, taping, acupuncture, massage and manual therapy.

JACKY POLLARD

Clinic Manager & Sports Massage Therapist

Jacky manages Body Reahb Studios as our Clinic Manager and expertly and efficiently handles all that this entails! She manages our Pilates classes and works behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly at the clinic, and is the person to speak to about availability and bookings. Jacky qualified in Level 3 Sports Massage at Brighton Holistics in 2021. She became interested in holistic and sports massage after suffering with back and shoulder issues when working long hours in an office based role and decided after having treatment herself, that she would like to train in this field and help others with similar issues.

DORA PANDI

Chartered Physiotherapist & APPI Pilates Instructor

Dora graduated with a First Class degree from King’s College London and has worked in the NHS and elite academy football. 

She has experience in treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions utilising various modalities tailored to client needs. Dora trained as a ballet dancer and teacher and has an interest in dancer injuries and rehabilitation. She also teaches Pilates both in a group and 1:1, and believes in its benefits for body awareness, rehabilitation from injury and maintenance. 

CRAIG CUNNINGHAM

Chartered Physiotherapist

Craig graduated from Durham University with a First-Class degree in Sport and Exercise Science, where he developed a passion about physiology, nutrition and strength and conditioning. He went on to complete his Master’s degree in Physiotherapy at King’s College London, undertaking placements across the NHS in areas such as intensive care, oncology and neuro-rehabilitation. His master’s thesis, (which is soon to be published in a leading journal), focused on optimised treatment of lower back pain – an area of particular interest for him, having experienced it himself and developing a deep understanding of its impact on a persons’ life.

Alongside his physiotherapy work, Craig holds a Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage and an Advanced Taping qualification which he integrates into his practice. He takes pride in providing patient-centred care, ensuring every session is tailored to each individual’s goals and circumstances. His approach combines clinical expertise with empathy, aiming to make the rehabilitation process both effective and enjoyable.

Outside of work, Craig is a keen sports enthusiast who enjoys playing rugby, strength and conditioning training and cycling - but he’s always up for trying any sport! He’s passionate about helping people return to the activities they love, whether that’s competitive sport or everyday movement, and making the journey as rewarding as the outcome.
